Orientation Coordinator: Etta Lauchland

I’m studying Communications along with Humanomics and Rhetoric & Composition minors. I am also a member of the Gamma Phi Beta. Being an Orientation Leader my sophomore year seemed like a daunting task after experiencing Chapman online-only because of COVID, but I was welcomed by the most encouraging mentors and met my best friends to this day. My advice for new students is to try new things and put your best into everything you do. Stepping out of your comfort zone is definitely one of the scariest things you can do but it’s also the most rewarding. Even if you don’t love something you tried, you might meet a new friend you wouldn’t have met otherwise! There is so much love and support in this community if you put yourself out there to find it. I hope you all have the most amazing experience, we’re all rooting for you!
