Favorite Orientation memory: My favorite memory was being able to sit on the football field and watch the fireworks. At this moment, I realized that college was happening and I was so excited to start this new chapter in my life.

Favorite Orientation memory: My favorite OL memory was the candle ceremony with my parents and all the fun games and activities they had over zoom. As well as meeting other transfers and new students.

Fun fact: I was born without any wisdom teeth so I will never have to get them taken out
Favorite Orientation memory: My favorite orientation memory is the very last day where we got to dance and sing to the music being played in AF. It was so much fun where I got to meet more people and just having a fun time singing along with everyone and getting out those nervous first day jitters. Also, I remember meeting a few people in my orientation group on the first day. And we ended up becoming best friends coincidentally because we rushed for AKPsi together. And now we are planning on living together for the next school year. So it is very cool to see that a friendship can bloom due to being in the same orientation group.

Favorite Orientation memory: I remember watching the We Are Chapman speaker series in Musco as a new student and leaving in tears. They were good tears — happy tears, excited tears, tears of awe at the wonderful people I would get to share my college experience with.

Favorite Orientation memory: A few weeks after my first Orientation as an OL, I was in the Student Union and saw some of my students hanging out together. It made me so happy to see that they had become friends after meeting in my Orientation group!

Favorite Orientation memory: As a new student I loved when I entered a zoom meeting with my OL’s blasting throwback songs super loudly. I quickly figured out that Orientation would not just be an informative session but an enjoyable week where I get to meet mentors and people in my major that I will see on a daily basis in my classes. The ice breakers were super fun too because no one is judgmental and you can freely express yourself and talk about yourself. I truly felt like I was starting a new chapter in my life during orientation.
Sophie Pelton

Fun fact: I once had 80 mosquito bites at one time
Favorite Orientation memory: my favorite orientation memory was the ice breakers because I got to meet a bunch of new people which made me less nervous for the upcoming year. The ice breakers were fun to do at the beginning of each session because they got all of our nerves out and make us more comfortable to share on the zoom because we were all already talking. This made each session better and more engaging.
