Dear Freshmen and Transfer Students: Congratulations on making it into Chapman!!! We may be online, but don’t let that deter you from being able to make friends, collaborate with your fellow students, challenge yourself, and spark your creativity. Teachers and students alike are all in this together; and whether we are online or in person, that beautiful sense of community that we have in theatre is present. If I can offer you any advice for this time, it is this: communicate, communicate, communicate! No one knows what your life is like outside of that Zoom box. If you are having a hard time, let your teachers and fellow students know! Be there for your peers and put yourself out there. Helping others is a great way to boost your mood and give yourself a sense of belonging. Remember that our Chapman Theatre community is safe, inviting space… but it’s up to you to make the best it! We are a diverse group of talented, fun loving, hard working, open minded, creative beings; and we welcome you with open arms. You belong.
