“A Song of Spring” by Margaret Clark, 1905, from All Weathers

A song of Spring,
When grief grows light,
And everything
Is glad and bright,
When pleasures wake
And buds unfold,
We also take
New hopes for old.

As every year
There is a spring,
So find we here
In everything;
Our hearts may ache
For dear days gone,-
Yet flowers will wake
To bless the sun.
