This traditional event is the formal opening to Chapman’s academic year. Faculty in full regalia march in procession and President Struppa officially launches the semester. After Convocation, Orientation will officially begin.  

At the conclusion of this Program, families please remain seated as students exit through the North Gate and proceed to the Residence Halls for a Mandatory Residence Life Meeting if they will be living on campus or to the Argyros Forum, Great Room for the Commuter Student Social. Once students have exited, families are welcome to attend the Wine and Cheese Reception hosted by Dr. Jerry Price, Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of Students, on Aitken Arts Plaza.

Spiritual Exploration Social 
The Fish Interfaith Center on the Chapman University campus offers opportunities for students who are interested in spirituality of any type. If you consider yourself simply a “Seeker,” curious about developing your spiritual path, practicing meditation, or learning about different religions, we have opportunities for you. If you are involved in or interested in a particular spiritual path, such as Buddhism, Christianity, Islam, Sikhism, or Judaism, we can connect you with student groups to pursue your faith journey. We offer particular programs for students from more progressive Christian denominations, Latter-day Saints, Catholic, and non-denominational churches. Finally, our beautiful Wallace All Faiths Chapel, located in the Fish Interfaith Center, is here for your use!
